14:17. Back glass

1 – molding of back glass;
2 – lining of back glass;
3 – top molding of back glass;
4 – back glass;
5 – lower lining of back glass;

8 – back glass.


1. Before removal of a windshield remove the following elements:

– disconnect the socket from a heater of back glass;
– top upholstery of a back rack;
– bolt of fastening of the top part of a back seat belt;
– back shelf.
2. Remove back glass in the same way, as well as a windshield.


1. The special tool or a knife cut off old sealant to thickness of a layer of 2 mm on all perimeter of a frame and back glass.


Be careful not to remove sealant more, than it is necessary, and also not to damage a paint and varnish covering of the car.

2. Degrease the processed surface.
3. Apply back glass to a window opening and in four points on a body note glass installation sites.
4. Paste a rubber lining to the internal surface of back glass.

Sealant layer height
"In" – four-door cars:
Above: 13,5 mm
From sides: 13,5 mm
From below: 27 mm
"With" – three – five-door cars:
Above: 23 mm
From sides: 23 mm
From below: 42 mm

5. Establish a molding on back glass.
6. Apply a thin film of glass primer on outer side of a rubber lining of back glass.


Do not touch a sealant layer by a hand.
In the place of a contact of sealant with a hand it cannot provide reliable connection and in this place leaks after glass installation are possible.
You do not apply the primer intended for a body on glass.

7. Apply a thin film of primer on originally applied sealant acting on glass perimeter. Glass needs to be established within 10 min. after putting primer.
8. Put glue in the syringe and put it on the edge of back glass.


Apply glue within 5 min. after putting glass primer.

9. Establish by the special tool or suckers glass over a window opening according to earlier put tags and press glass to a window opening.
10. Remove with the pallet excess glue. Fill all sinks and emptiness on perimeter of back glass.
11. Directing a water stream to back glass, check tightness of its installation. Do not direct to fresh sealant a water stream under big pressure.
12. In the presence of leaks dry up the damaged area and apply sealant.


Do not operate the car within 4 hours after glass installation.
After installation of back glass support it within the first hour.

13. Establish into place all earlier removed elements.


Within 2–3 days after installation of back glass do not slam the doors.
Avoid movement along uneven roads where the body of the car is exposed to intensive twisting.
