2.2.9. Camshafts

1 – camshaft pulley;
2 – bolt, 80–100 N • m;
3 – sealing ring of the camshaft;
4 – forward cover of the bearing;
5 – camshaft of inlet valves;
6 – bolt, 8–10 N • m;
7 – central cover;
8 – cover of a head of cylinders;
9 – laying;
10 – back cover of the bearing;
11 – chain;
12 – camshaft of final valves;
13 – hydraulic compensator of gaps of valves.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a hose of ventilation of a case.
2. Remove a pulley of the water pump and a bent shaft.
3. Remove a casing of a gear belt.
4. Take away a roller of a tension of a gear belt to the water pump and temporarily enshrine it in this provision.
5. Take off a gear belt from a camshaft pulley.
6. Turn out screws and remove the central cover.
7. Remove the block of coils of ignition.
8. Turn out bolts and uncover a head of cylinders.
9. Remove a camshaft pulley.
10. Uncover bearings of the camshaft and a chain.
11. Remove camshafts.
12. Remove hydraulic compensators of gaps of valves.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check the camshaft for lack of uneven wear, cracks or damages.
2. Measure height of each cam of the camshaft in two points.

Nominal height of cams of the camshaft of inlet valves: 43,4483 mm
Nominal height of the camshaft of final valves: 43,8489 mm
Minimum admissible height of cams of the camshaft of inlet valves: 42,9484 mm
Minimum admissible height of the camshaft of final valves: 43,3489 mm

3. Check surfaces of cams for lack of uneven wear and damages.
4. Check each bearing for absence of damage. If the working surface of the bearing is excessively damaged, replace a head of cylinders or a cover of the bearing of the camshaft.

Axial side play of the camshaft: 0,1–0,2 mm

Forward sealing ring of the camshaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check working edges of a sealing ring for lack of wear. If the working edge is worn-out or damaged, replace a sealing ring.
2. Check the surface of the camshaft contacting to a sealing ring. If this surface is evenly worn-out, replace the camshaft.

Hydraulic compensators of gaps of valves


Fill the hydraulic compensator of gaps of valves with engine oil, you hold vertically and fingers of a hand squeeze it from two parties.


The main malfunctions of hydraulic compensators of gaps of valves, the reasons and methods of elimination are given in the table.

Do not increase the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine higher than 3000 min.-1 as it is possible to damage hydraulic compensators of gaps of valves.

Check a chain for lack of uneven wear, cracks or damages and, if necessary, replace it.


Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Install hydraulic compensators of gaps of valves.
2. Establish a chain on asterisks of camshafts as it is shown in the drawing.
3. Before installation apply a thin film of pure engine oil on all surfaces of sliding of camshafts. Install camshafts.
4. Establish covers of bearings of camshafts. Check the identification tags defining camshafts of inlet or final valves.

5. Tighten bolts of fastening of covers of bearings the required moment.

Inhaling moment: 12–14 N • m

6. Oil engine working edges and an external surface of a sealing ring and establish by the special tool 09221-21000 a sealing ring on a forward part of the camshaft.

Establish by blows of the hammer to special adaptation a sealing ring against the stop in a nest.
7. Establish a pulley of the camshaft and fix it by a bolt.

Inhaling moment: 80–100 N • m

8. Combine an adjusting tag of the camshaft and an adjusting tag of a pulley of a bent shaft with indexes, at the same time the piston of the 1st cylinder will be in VMT in a compression step.
9. Establish a cover of a head of cylinders and tighten bolts of fastening of a cover the required moment.

Inhaling moment: 8–10 N • m

10. Establish high-voltage wires, coils of ignition and the central cover.
11. Establish a gear belt and tighten the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt.
12. Establish casings of a gear belt.
13. Establish a pulley of the water pump.
