7.4. Check of spark plugs

1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery. For a tip disconnect high-voltage wires from spark plugs.


At a detachment of high-voltage wires from spark plugs pull for a wire tip, but not for a wire as it can be damaged.

2. Compressed air clear candles that will exclude hit of dirt in engine cylinders after a vyvinchivaniye of spark plugs. Turn out a candle, using a candle key. For an exception of damage of a candle establish a candle key strictly along a candle axis.
3. Check spark plugs for existence of the following defects:

1) damage of the insulator;
2) worn-out electrodes;
3) deposit;
4) laying damage;
5) a condition of the insulator on a spark plug tip.
4. A wire template check an interelectrode gap of a spark plug. Correction of a gap is carried out by a podgibaniye of a side electrode.
The interelectrode gap of a spark plug is of great importance as at too big and at too small gap the spark size changes that leads to decrease in overall performance of the engine. The gap has to conform to technical requirements always.

The central electrode cannot be bent at all as it can lead to breakage of the insulator and an exit of a candle out of operation. For a podgibaniye of a side electrode of a candle it is necessary to use the special tool.

Interelectrode gap of a spark plug: 1,0-1,1 mm

5. Screw a spark plug in a head of the block of cylinders.

Inhaling moment: 20-30 N • m
