9.2.6. Testing of collaboration of the automatic transmission and engine on the motionless car (stall test)

Testing is carried out to define whether there is a slipping of elements of friction or violation in work of hydraulic components.
Prevention

When performing testing nobody has to stand ahead of and behind the car.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before testing check levels of all operational liquids and, if necessary, bring them to normal. Temperature of transmission liquid has to be in limits of 80-90 °C, and cooling liquid 80–90 °C.
2. Establish a maple emphasis under forward and back wheels.
3. Connect a tachometer to the engine.
4. Tighten the parking brake and press a brake pedal.
5. Start the engine.
6. Move the selector lever to a position "D". The left leg press against the stop a brake pedal, and the right leg smoothly press an accelerator pedal. When the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine does not increase any more, read indications of a tachometer and release an accelerator pedal. For an exception of damage of the transmission you hold testing during 5 pages. If it is necessary to hold more than one testing at the working engine move the selector lever to a position N and leave the engine to work at the frequency of rotation of idling within 2 min. Operation of the engine at a frequency of rotation of idling cools transmission liquid and prevents deterioration in its properties.

Frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine when testing collaboration of the automatic transmission and engine on the motionless car (stall test): 2300–2700 min.-1.

7. Similarly hold testing in position "R" of the lever of the selector.

If the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine is higher than the specification in a position D, so pressure of transmission liquid insufficiently as a result of leak in back coupling or the obgonny coupling.

If the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine is higher than the specification in a position R, so pressure of transmission liquid insufficiently as a result of leak in forward coupling or a brake tape of forward lower transfers and a backing.

If the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine is lower than the specification in a position D, so pressure of transmission liquid insufficiently as a result of wear of the oil pump or malfunction of the hydrotransformer.
